"Question and Answer" is a way of presenting information
that you can customize to suit your needs. Similar to a popular TV Game show this training
software can be used to develop content specific In-House training. I use it to
teach anything from technical information such as Hazardous Materials to just having fun
with my peers in learning. Use it for organization specific information such as
operating guidelines, organization charts, important roles and rules. It creates an
air of fun in the classroom and livens things up considerably through hands on activity.
It can be used in a collaborative manner to foster teamwork; that is, I split the
room into two teams and their goal is to get as many of the 9000 possible points as they
can. If the team whose turn it is can't answer the question in the time allowed
(usually one minute) the other team can try to salvage half of the point value. Or
you can use the competitive approach. It also creates an air for learning... that is
the "GSH" (Game Show Host) can use disputed or unanswered questions to expand on
a subject where a knowledge deficiency has become apparent.
I also have a bonus "wager question" at the end to give an opportunity for
teams that are within range to pull it out. My bonus questions are usually some
confusing and perhaps controversial piece of information. Double trouble questions
can be inserted to increase point winning opportunities which gets everyone excited.
Other variations are available too, you can combine this approach with visual aids,
you could have the teams perform skills, skits, or skirmishes.
You only have to buy it once and you can use it as a template for making as many games
as you want. You are not allowed to make games for others. However the price
is not prohibitive. Quantity discounts are available.
